The annual GCC Global Summit aims to educate and discuss China’s emergence in the world from a variety of perspectives, from political, to economic, and technological. Secondly, the Summit serves as a platform for those who share a common interest in China and/or Chinese culture, and provides the opportunity to connect, learn, and network under one roof. This year, we are expecting an attendance of over 500 graduate and undergraduate students from top universities all around the world, in addition to the appearance of over 100 business professionals from the world’s top multinational corporations.

The Global Summit has been hosted by different university chapters every year since 2012. Previous hosts have included Cornell University, George Washington University, and New York University. Notable speakers from past conferences include former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, political scientist Ian Bremmer, and former US diplomat J. Stapleton Roy.

The 2020 GCC Global Summit will be held in Philadelphia at Drexel University on April 25th, 2020 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

About GCC

Founded in 2008, Global China Connection (GCC) is a nonprofit organization for university students and young professionals of all nationalities seeking to engage with China’s emergence in the world. From students to alumni and business professionals, GCC connects future leaders from all nations and assists them in developing the skills and friendships necessary to succeed both in China and internationally. Today, GCC is present in over 70 universities worldwide, with chapters across North America, Asia, and Europe.

Our Mission

GCC is devoted to building meaningful and long-lasting relationships between Chinese and non-Chinese students through cultural and professional development opportunities. Over recent decades, the increasing interdependence between China, Asia, and the rest of the world has greatly influenced and will continue to shape global progress and international relations of the 21st century. Yet the direction of this engagement is still unclear, as economic, diplomatic, and geopolitical uncertainties still loom on the horizon. It is in the light of this historical situation that GCC’s mission and role will become even more relevant – not only to us, but also to the rest of the world.
